Can I actually grow cacti and succulents in a terrarium? I've been wondering this myself!

Answer: I absolutely love terrariums — they're such a wonderful way to bring that lush, thriving garden feeling right inside your home. These little self-sustaining ecosystems inside glass containers make the most stunning signature pieces and always wow my guests.

Terrariums are honestly pretty easy to maintain and often thrive with minimal care. But I've learned the hard way that if you don't plan properly when setting up these little sheltered worlds, they can struggle.

Choosing the right plants is everything when it comes to a healthy terrarium. In my experience, the best picks are on the smaller side, love humidity, and do well in moist soil with plenty of indirect sunlight.

Now, cacti and other succulents aren't the biggest fans of humid environments — but they can still do beautifully in terrariums. The trick I always use? Pick a container without a lid. That keeps the humidity way lower than a closed container would.

Just remember, every plant has its own personality and needs — and that's especially true in terrariums. Once you've picked the succulents you want, I'd suggest doing a little research or chatting with your local nursery about their specific soil, light, and watering requirements.
